Nova Classical Academy Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

Six Nova Seniors in a Class of 42 Earn Receive National Merit Semifinalist Award

The National Merit Scholarship Program announced that six Nova Classical Academy students were named Semifinalists in the 61st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Scholars receiving the award include Mary Clare Burke, Sophia Cherif, Ruth Cohen (not pictured), Leora Eisenberg, Bella Horton, and Anya Magnuson.

Based on performance on the 2014 PSAT/NMSQT test, these students were among the highest scoring entrants in the state and are among the top one percent of United States high school seniors. Having six students named National Merit Semifinalists is notable for a class of 42.

Five Nova students were also named Commended students in the 2016 National Merit Program: Olivia Arco, Hannah Hoefs, Liam Magistad, Liza Sivriver, and Lewis Thelen.
