Ordway Center Hosts 2018 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration

The Monday, Jan. 15 event is free and open to the public.

The Minnesota Governor’s Council will host the 32nd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul Monday, Jan. 15. The event will include remarks from Gov. Mark Dayton, Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, and Rep. Ilhan Omar.

β€œTo continue the work that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. championed over 60 years ago, we must reaffirm our commitments to equal rights, opportunities, and justice for all,” Dayton said in a statement. β€œI encourage Minnesotans to join us on January 15th, as we honor past civil rights leaders and renew our state’s commitment to building a better future for all Minnesotans.”

This year, the theme of the celebration will be: β€œLife's most persistent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'"
