Rash of Thefts, Burglaries Continue in Mendota Heights

Mendota Heights police are pleading with residents to always lock the doors on homes, garages, and vehicles, despite how safe your neighborhood might seem. Since Jan. 1, there have been eight burglaries and three theft from motor vehicle reports in the Mendota Heights area.

Police say they are actively monitoring the area and are following up on any and all leads.

Among the leads is video of a "misguided youth" seen rummaging around a vehicle in the Ivy Falls neighborhood:

If you see cars or persons that don't seem to belong in your neighborhood or are acting suspiciously, call 911 immediately. Police say to trust your gut; if it feels wrong, have the authorities check it out.
