Red Robin Cleaners Expands to River Bluffs Center

Dry-cleaning business Red Robin Cleaners recently opened a new location in Lilydale’s River Bluffs Center.

“This seemed like a nice area to us, geographically,” said Red Robin co-owner Chris Skarupa.

This is Red Robin’s second location. The primary storefront, which has been home to the business for over 40 years, is on Ford Parkway, in the heart of St. Paul’s Highland Park neighborhood.

Chris and his wife, June, were drawn to River Bluffs because of its proximity to Sibley Memorial Highway, and the commuters that drive it.

The Skarupas also considered the relationship between Lilydale and Highland Park when choosing their second location, which opened May 5.

According to Chris and June, many Lilydale residents are transplants from Highland Park, and opening their second store in Lilydale laid the foundation for potential brand recognition.

“There’s a good connection between Highland and this area,” said Chris.

Chris and June purchased the Red Robin business last July when Chris, who spent 25 years working a corporate desk job, decided he wanted a change.

“When this came up, it was ideal,” said June. “We drove up and we knew this was the place.”

Red Robin specializes in dry cleaning, but the Skarupas recently hired an on-site tailor with more than 25 years of experience for their Highland Park shop. Their tailor will also take in work at the Lilydale location and customers can schedule tailoring sessions by appointment.

“We very much take care of our customers,” said June.
