Sex Offender Plans Move To Mendota Heights

Kirk Fugelseth, 51, admitted to abusing 31 children.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN β€” This month, the Mendota Heights Police Department was informed that Kirk Fugelseth, a level-two predatory offender, plans to move to Mendota Heights. State officials say Fugelseth has served his court-imposed and is currently transitioning into the community.

Fugelseth's history of sexual contact is with boys and girls ages 7 to 15 and includes "touching and penetration," according to authorities. The 51-year-old admitted to abusing 31 children, KARE 11 reported. Fugelseth also has a history of possessing child pornography.

A January court decision led to his discharge from the Minnesota Sex Offender Program. Fugelseth entered the program in 2003 as a sexually dangerous person who had a sexual psychopathic personality.

A community notification meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at the Mendota Heights City Council Chambers, (1101 Victoria Curve).

Representatives from the Department of Corrections and the Mendota Heights Police Department will be provide public safety information.
