St. Thomas Academy Swimmers, Relay Teams Advance to State Finals
Cadets qualify two relay teams, individuals in eight events for the finals of Saturday's boys state swimming and diving competition
Two of St. Thomas Academy’s three relay teams advanced to the finals and the Cadets qualified for eight individual events in the finals of the 2011 boys Class A swimming and diving championship Saturday.
Leading the charge for the Cadets was junior Luke Johanns who was third in the 50 freestyle qualifying race (21.48) and third in the 100 backstroke (52.60).
Michael Berg was third in the 500 freestyle prelims in 4:54.62 and fifth in the 200 freestyle in 1:47.86.

The state meet Class A finals will be held Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, starting at noon. The top eight swimmers or relay teams swim qualified for the finals. The next eight swim in the consolation championships.
