Vikings Player Charged With Drug Possession In Mendota Heights

Police say they found 143 grams of marijuana in Racean Thomas' apartment in Mendota Heights.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — Minnesota Vikings backup running back Racean Thomas has been charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance in Dakota County. Police executed a search warrant Jan. 16 at Thomas' Mendota Heights apartment at 720 South Plaza Way.

There they found 143 grams of marijuana, according to the criminal complaint.

Thomas said he was aware the building's management had received complaints about the smell of marijuana coming from his apartment, according to authorities.

He said all of the marijuana in his home was for personal use, and he denied selling the drug, the complaint states.
