Visitation Cross Country Runs in Blaze Invitational
Team takes third place, Martha Hubbell takes fifth place overall.
The cross country team finished third overall at the Burnsville Blaze Invitational held at Nicollet Junior High School on Thursday.
The Blazers took third place with 115 team points at the invitational, trailing only Shakopee’s 59 points and Owatonna’s 98 points. Twelve teams competed at the event.
Individually, sophomore Martha Hubbell finished fifth overall with a 15:19.0 time. Sophomore Marta Seitz took 14th at 16:12.0, sophomore Grace Foster took 27th at 16:45.4 and freshman Susan Nitschke took 32nd at 16:52.0.

Senior Katie Gavic took 37th at 17:02.3, senior Erin Anderson took 49th at 17:20.0 and senior Erin Scallen took 52nd at 17:22.5.
Two-time defending Class AA state champion Maria Hauger of Shakopee took first place individually with a 14:02.6 finish. She finished 55 seconds ahead of second place finisher Chrissy Monson of Albert Lea.

The Blazers’ next race will be at the the Swain Invitational meet held in Duluth on Oct. 1.
