Visitation Girls Swim To Fourth At State
Blazers place in 9 of 12 events to finish fourth and Sibley's Pasquale places 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke at 2011 MSHSL girls Class A swim and dive championships Saturday.
Visitation's swimmers racked up big points in the relays to finish fourth in the 2011 MSHSL girls Class A swimming and diving championships Saturday.
The Blazers were second in the 400-yard freestyle relay, fourth in 200-yard freestyle relay and third in the 200-yard medley relay.
Held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, Visitation scored in 9 of 12 events to finish second in the team race.

Competing in the Class AA swim and dive championships Saturday night, Henry Sibley junior Kenna Pasquale placed 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:07.43.
Pasquale was the only state qualifier from Henry Sibley.

Sartell-St. Stephen won the meet with 238 points. Northfield was second with 173 points, Hutchinson third with 170, Visitation fourth with 166 and Monticello fifth with 156.
Visitation saved their best for last. The team of Ellie Hostetler, Caroline Gaertner, Abbie Dolan and Megan Foster finished second in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:36.00.
"We had so many personal bests and it was just so exciting," said Foster. "I think almost everyone had personal bests today."
in the 200 medley relay, Visitation's Gaertner, Kate Hickey, Nikki Janssen and Megan Gaylord finished third in 1:49.98.
Visitation was fourth in the 200 freestyle relay with the foursome of Bailey Brown, Hostetler, Michaela O'Brien and Gaylord clocking a 1:39.07.
In the individual events, Foster led the Blazers with a fourth-place finish in the 200 yard IM in 2:09.67. Gaylord was 16th in the event in 2:15.21.
"I came into it going a 2:11,02 yesterday and it was my fastest time by two seconds," said Foster. "And then today I was able to drop two more seconds and go 2:09, breaking an old Visitation record, so it was very exciting for me."
Foster was also sixth in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.16.
Gaylord finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.57.
Gaylord was pleased with her swim in the 200 medley relay. "I went the fastest split out of all the girls in the 200 medley relay (24.17), It was just really fun. I love the relays because we're all together and we're all working toward the same goal together."
Gartner took fourth in the 100-yard backstroke in 58.02. She also won the consolation final in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:58.18.
Hostetler was 15th in the 50 freestyle in 25.38.
