Visitation Sophomore Finishes 14th at State Cross Country Champs

Martha Hubbell competed against more than 100 runners in the Class AA state tournament.

10th grader Martha Hubbell represented the red and white at the MSHSL State Cross Country Championships last Saturday, Nov. 5 at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.

In a field of over one hundred Class AA runners Hubbell finished 14th with a time of 14:43.90.

This capped an exciting season for Hubbell who became only the fourth Visitation runner in school history to break the 15-minute mark in a 4000-meter race.  Indeed, Martha set the new school record when she ran an outstanding 14:41.00 at the Section 3 championships one week before the state meet.

Hubbell’s efforts helped her team place fourth in the Tri-Metro Conference and fifth in Section 3AA.
