Visitation Swimmers Bring Home Section True Team Title

Title is the seventh straight title for the Blazers.

swimmers easily outdistanced the competition at Richfield Middle School on Saturday to win its seventh straight True Team Section 4A championship.

Visitation scored 996 points in the meet, with Hill-Murray a distant second with 765 points. Chisago Lakes scored 627 for third, followed by Richfield with 563 points and Holy Angels with 46.

“It was about where we thought we'd be,” Visitation coach Nate Linscheid said. “There was nothing too surprising.”

Visitation advances to the state true team meet Thursday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

The true team format allows teams to enter as many swimmers as they want in the meet, with the top four finishers scoring for each team. The unique format is meant to determine the best team rather than the one with the most top individuals.

Visitation has never won a state true team title, but has taken second once and finished third three times.
