Visitation Team Advances To State Doubles Semifinals
Lawrence and Morrison of Visitation win twice to gain the semifinals of the Class AA girls state tennis tournament Thursday.
Junior Meredith Lawrence and senior Morgan Morrison of advanced to the semifinals of the Class AA girls state tennis tournament with two doubles wins Thursday in the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center.
Lawrence and Morrison swept Carly Hayes and Jacqlyn Poss of Roseville Area 6-4, 6-2 in the first round Thursday morning. In the quarterfinals the Visitation team rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 7-3 victory over Maya MacGibbon and Sydney Baldwin of Minnetonka.
Morrison and Lawrence will play the Mounds View tandem of Haws-Lay and Brills in one of two semifinal matches starting at 8 a.m. Friday.

If they win they’ll play for the Class AA doubles state tournament championship at 11:30 a.m. All matches will be played in the U of M’s Baseline Tennis Center. A loss in the semifinals would send the Visitation team into the third place match.
