What's With All The Cars On Dodd Road In Mendota Heights?

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — Have you noticed a bunch of occupied cars parked near the intersection of Marie Avenue West and Dodd Road in the evenings? As it happens, so has the Mendota Heights Police Department.

Officers spoke with several of the drivers, and it turns out they're delivery drivers for services like Amazon and Bite Squad. Police learned the intersection is an advantageous place to stop while waiting for their next task.

"While it is out of the ordinary, it is perfectly legal and we do not ask them to leave," police said, joking that, "Besides, we would never want to upset our benevolent overlord Amazon lest our midnight impulse purchases be delivered late."

You're probably familiar with Amazon but maybe not the lesser-known Bite Squad. Bite Squad is a Minneapolis-based delivery service that can bring food from restaurants all across the metro to your front door. The company describes itself as a "lovechild of two friends with a passion for entrepreneurship – and food!"
