16-Year-Old Dead, Another Shot In North Minneapolis Shooting, Police Say

Officers are investigating if the two victims have any connection. Police have not said whether or not a suspect is in custody.

Minneapolis police say they are investigating after a teenager and a 44-year-old man were shot in North Minneapolis on Thursday evening.

According to police, officers were called to the 1300 block of 18th Avenue North around 5:30 p.m. When they arrived on scene, officers found a 16-year-old male with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but the teenager died at the scene.

Police say that a 44-year-old man, who was in the area, was also shot but suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man drove his car to a nearby gas station at Broadway Avenue and Knox Avenue North. Police arrived at that scene and provided medical aid before the man was transported to a local hospital.
