MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The University of Minnesota Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding a 19-year-old student who went missing overnight Saturday.

Sumith Maddi was last seen leaving the 17th Avenue residence hall at around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said in a tweet.

Maddi has black hair and brown eyes, stands 6 feet tall, and weighs around 170 pounds, officials said. He was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket, black pants, and white shoes.
