21-Year-Old Inmate At Hennepin County Jail Dies
The incident is under investigation, and the cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

MINNEAPOLIS — A 21-year-old inmate at the Hennepin County Jail died on Monday following a medical incident, according to Sheriff Dawanna Witt.
The man was in the jail’s medical room while being attended to by nursing staff, authorities said. He was treated at the scene until paramedics and fire department personnel arrived and transported him to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
"I was saddened to hear of the death of an individual in our custody today, and my thoughts are with that person’s family and friends," Witt said in a statement.

"While events like this are difficult to process, I am thankful for the actions of my staff and those of our partners, all of whom acted compassionately and decisively in their effort to administer life-saving measures."
