38-Year-Old Man Tried To Solicit Sex From A Minor In Ham Lake: Police

ST. PAUL — A Minneapolis man is facing felony charges of soliciting a minor for sex.
Authorities say David Crevier, 38, was caught in their Sept. 13 sting operation in Ham Lake.
During the operation, suspects chatted on several social media platforms with undercover agents and investigators who posed as minors, according to investigators.

Crevier unknowingly arranged a meeting with someone he thought was a minor, authorities said.
"Every time we can stand between a child and someone who wants to victimize them, it’s a win," said Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Superintendent Drew Evans.

"Our task force and partner agencies will continue working to be that shield so every child can live in safety."
In Minnesota, a conviction of soliciting a minor for sex comes with a maximum prison sentence of five years.
"It’s tragic that we live in a world where people would victimize children, but as long as we do, our team will continue working to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators," said Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart.
