4-Year-Old Minnesota Boy Driving ATV Killed In Crash

A 6-year-old who was a passenger on the vehicle survived, authorities said.

MORRISON COUNTY, MN — A 4-year-old boy from central Minnesota died on Tuesday after the ATV he was driving crashed, according to police. A 6-year-old passenger on the vehicle survived, authorities said.

"This a tragic situation for family and all emergency personnel. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved," Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen said in a statement.

Just before 5 p.m., the 4-year-old was driving the vehicle on 83rd Street outside Buckman Township when he lost control on the gravel road, rolling the ATV, according to investigators.

Before the ATV started rolling, the passenger jumped off the machine, but the driver was ejected, police said.

Authorities responded and provided tried life-saving measures, but the 4-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 6-year-old passenger was treated for minor cuts and bruises, investigators said.
