TWIN CITIES, MN — "A powerful winter storm impacts the region beginning overnight," the National Weather Service said.
"Travel impacts from accumulating and blowing snow are expected overnight through Saturday. After the snow, dangerous wind chills as low as -40 develop Saturday night through Tuesday."

Meanwhile, a "wide range in snow amounts still exists," with 6-10 inches expected across southern Minnesota and 3 to 8 inches possible in the Twin Cities metro area.
