Former MN Republican Candidate Barred From Contacting Ex-Wife For 50 Years: Report

He was also barred from contacting his teenage son for two years after a judge found he had abused them.

A Hennepin County judge has ordered former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Royce White not to contact his ex-wife for 50 years or his teenage son for two years after finding he abused them, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported.

White denied abuse in a statement on Substack, according to the newspaper.

Judge Kristen Marttila found White's family was “plainly in fear” and wrote that his ex-wife was “utterly at a loss for how else to gain peace from him.”

The petition was filed in December by White's ex-wife, who alleged abuse had escalated and made her fear for her family's safety.

The newspaper reported Marttila found several allegations were true, including an incident at high school basketball practice in which White “chased his minor son, grabbed him by the neck, and threw him into the metal ball rack.” A child advocate assigned to the case found White's son “is scared for his physical safety around his father,” according to the report, while the couple's daughter was not fearful and White may continue seeing her.
