MINNEAPOLIS — Frost and freeze concerns are back in the Twin Cities forecast as chilly overnight temperatures linger into the start of May.
The National Weather Service said overnight lows falling into the upper 20s to mid-30s will create concerns for sensitive vegetation Thursday night. Cold overnight lows are expected to continue through Friday night, keeping frost and freeze concerns in place across central and southern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin.
In the Twin Cities, temperatures are expected to fall to around 37 degrees Thursday night and around 35 degrees Friday night. Saturday morning could bring areas of frost before 8 a.m., according to the forecast for Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The weekend should turn sunnier and warmer after that. Saturday’s high is expected to reach about 62 degrees, followed by a high near 68 on Sunday. A slight chance of showers returns late Saturday night and again Sunday night.
