New Meteorologist Joining KSTP-TV From Memphis

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Minnesota TV viewers will soon see a new meteorologist on KSTP-TV.

Meteorologist Kit Thomas is joining KSTP from ABC24 in Memphis, Tennessee, according to a post from KSTP anchor Lindsey Brown. Brown said Thomas will be on air with "Minnesota’s Weather Authority" soon.

Thomas recently said farewell to Memphis viewers after two years covering weather there.

"Tonight I said farewell to my viewers in Memphis," Thomas wrote in a social media post. "Trevor kindly put together a short montage of some of my time here covering many different weather stories over the last two years."

Thomas also referenced his love of J.R.R. Tolkien, saying it felt more appropriate to say "Namárië" instead of goodbye.

"Memphis is a good city filled with passionate people," he wrote. "Go towards Goodness, my friends."

Brown said another Memphis TV journalist, Harrison Klopp, is also new to KSTP from WREG in Memphis. Klopp is a Minnesota native, according to Brown.

Brown, who previously worked at WMC in Memphis, said seeing the two Memphis connections come north had her "reminiscing" about her own reporting days there.

"Welcome to Minnesota, guys!" Brown wrote.
