MINNEAPOLIS — Federal authorities on Tuesday announced charges against 25 members and associates of two prolific Minnesota-based drug trafficking organizations for a long and sweeping list of drug, gun and violence-related offenses.
Agents and officers, including multiple SWAT teams, executed several warrants Tuesday morning, resulting in the arrest of 12 defendants, authorities said.
“Over a span of five months, the individuals indicted today attempted to traffic no less than 333,000 deadly doses of fentanyl into our Minneapolis communities,” U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Omaha Field Division Special Agent in Charge Dustin Gillespie said in a news release.
Some of the defendants were members or associates of the Family Mob gang, which is based in south Minneapolis and originated in the late 1990s to early 2000s, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The Family Mob conspired to distribute fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and other drugs, authorities said. In the past year, the area in the Family Mob’s territory has seen an increased prevalence of open-air drug trafficking, weapons violations, shootings and homicides, according to the department.
Members of the fentanyl trafficking conspiracy maintained an open‑air drug market near Lake Street and Park Avenue, authorities said, and enforced their territory with violence, including a murder in September 2025.
The following people are charged, according to the department:
Others were members of the Amani Hudson drug trafficking organization, some of whom were associated with the G Block and Bogus Boys gangs, authorities said. The organization based its operations near East 19th Street and Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis, according to the department, and distributed large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine throughout south Minneapolis and across the Twin Cities.
