Top 5 Minnesota CEOs Made A Combined $328 Million Last Year: Report

One executive's payout alone dwarfed the rest of the state's top earners combined, a Star Tribune report shows.

MINNESOTA — The state's five highest-paid public company CEOs made a combined $328 million last year, according to a new Minnesota Star Tribune ranking of executive compensation.

1. Bahram Akradi, Life Time Group Holdings: $218.2 million. Runs the gym chain, which has clubs across the country.

Akradi's number is inflated by a decade-old stock deal from when Life Time went private in 2015.

Those options were set to expire, so he cashed them in.

2. James Cracchiolo, Ameriprise Financial: $38.6 million. Runs the Minneapolis-based investment and wealth management firm.

3. John Stauch, Pentair: $27.7 million. Runs the company that makes water filtration and treatment equipment.

4. Chad Abraham, Piper Sandler: $23.3 million. Runs the Minneapolis-based investment bank.

5. Russell Becker, APi Group: $20.2 million. Runs the company that handles fire safety, security, and elevator services for businesses.

Read the full rankings, including all 50 executives, at the Star Tribune.
