MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Minnesota Timberwolves fans listening on the radio this season will find the team back on a familiar frequency.
The Timberwolves and Audacy announced Tuesday a multi-year, exclusive radio and streaming partnership that makes 830 WCCO (WCCO-AM) the team's flagship radio station beginning with the 2026-27 season.
It's the Wolves' first season back on the station since 2022-23, following a 12-season stretch on WCCO that began in 2011-12.
The Timberwolves spent the past three seasons on iHeartMedia's KFAN 100.3.
Under the new deal, WCCO will air every Timberwolves regular season game this season.
Alan Horton, the franchise's longtime play-by-play voice, returns to the broadcast full-time for his 20th season with the team. Horton has called more than 1,500 Timberwolves games, including the team's back-to-back runs to the Western Conference Finals in 2024 and 2025.
Studio host Cal Soderquist will join Horton on 30-minute pregame and postgame shows for every game. The shows will air on WCCO and stream online at audacy.com/wccoradio.
"We couldn't be more excited to return to WCCO Radio," said Kelly Laferriere, chief strategy officer for the Timberwolves and Lynx. "WCCO's longstanding connection with fans throughout Minnesota makes it an ideal home for Timberwolves basketball, and we look forward to sharing another exciting season with listeners across the region."
Debbie Kenyon, Audacy's regional president, said the station is eager to bring fans along for the season.
"There's something special about hearing Minnesota basketball on the station that has been part of this community for generations, and we can't wait to provide fans a front-row seat to all the energy, excitement and drama of another great Wolves season," Kenyon said.
The agreement also includes exclusive content and interviews with Timberwolves players, coaches and executives across Audacy's Minneapolis stations, along with additional programming, marketing and promotional elements throughout the year, according to the team.
WCCO's on-air lineup includes Vineeta Sawkar, Adam Carter and Jordana Green, Jason DeRusha, longtime Timberwolves and Minnesota basketball reporter Henry Lake, and Chad Hartman, who was the Timberwolves' radio voice from 1990 to 2006.
The Timberwolves also renewed their partnership with Learfield IMG College, which will help extend the team's radio reach through affiliate partners in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Fans can listen on 830 AM in the Twin Cities or tune in nationwide through the Audacy app and website.
