Armed Suspect Dies After Minneapolis Officer-Involved Shooting

At 3:09 am Sunday morning, officers responded to a report of a domestic with weapons on the 3100 block of Thomas Avenue North.

December 15, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) At 3:09 am Sunday morning, officers responded to a report of a domestic with weapons on the 3100 block of Thomas Avenue North. Further information received is that shots were fired in the residence and no one was hurt. Some of the people in the residence were able escape prior to officers arrival.

Officers arrived and got the people outside to shelter and safety. Other officers attempted contact with the suspect inside the residence. Contact was made and after extensive discussion, the suspect came outside. An armed confrontation occurred and the suspect was shot. Officers rendered aid to the suspect who was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by paramedics where he died a short time later.

Officers are not injured and the BCA is handling the investigation.
