Aug. 24 Shooting In Minneapolis Causes One Fatality
An Aug. 24 shooting in Minneapolis has left a man dead.
From the Minneapolis Police Department: The victim of a shooting in the 2000 block of Aldrich on Saturday night has died. At 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, an officer was working off duty in the area of the 2000 block of Aldrich Avenue North when the sound of a shot fired was aired. While this officer was en route to investigate, a call came in to 911 reporting that someone had been shot.
MPD officers arrived at the location and spoke with people at the scene. Officers were advised that the victim had been transported to North Memorial by a private vehicle. Officers and investigators canvassed the surrounding area and spoke with individuals who may have information regarding the incident. The Minneapolis Police Department crime lab responded and processed the scene and collected evidence.
Preliminary information indicates that an adult male victim, in his 20s, was shot outside and was transported to the hospital. The police department initially reported that the victim's injuries "are grave." He then passed away Aug. 25.
