After 10-Month-Old Dies, Toy Sold At Target Recalled
A 10-month-old's death and a 9-month-old's injury were linked to the water beads activity kits, which are now being recalled.
MINNEAPOLIS — Approximately 52,000 water beads activity kits sold exclusively at Minneapolis-based Target have been recalled after it was reported that a child died from swallowing the beads, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the Chuckle & Roar Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kits. Contact New York-based Buffalo Games for instructions on how to get a full refund.
"The water beads pose a risk of serious injury or death if ingested," CPSC said in a news release. "When ingested, the beads grow in size, which can cause intestinal obstruction."
