Cops: Shooting Victim Drove From Scene, Crashed 2 Blocks Later

The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the shooting death of an adult male.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the shooting death of an adult male.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Shotspotter and calls to 911 reported multiple gunshots in the area of 1800 Russell Ave N. A white SUV sped from the area and crashed near 1600 Russell Ave N.

Officers located an adult male who had been shot sitting in the driver’s seat of the crashed SUV. Officers rendered aid to the male until EMS crews arrived. The male was transported to North Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Minneapolis crime scene investigators processed the scene which includes the 1600 and 1800 blocks of Russell Ave N. Minneapolis homicide investigators are actively investigating the shooting.

The identity and cause of death for the deceased male will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office.
