Inspired by classical music, literature, "Americana," and iconic ballets, Classical Connections will have
you leaving the theater with your imagination a buzz!

Program Highlights:
Rodeo. Classic Americana! TCB’s own original interpretation of Aaron Copland’s iconic “made-in-America” musical score. TCB’s Rodeo seeks to both pay homage to Agnes de Mille’s original version of the ballet, while also creating its own unique storyline, relationships, choreography and style.
Frankenstein: The Monster Within. Classic Literature! See the World Premiere of an all new original work inspired by the gothic romance novel by Mary Shelly. No staggering monsters or Hollywood style clichés: this work is not a linear story ballet, but rather is an introspective exploration of the thematic elements of the book, centered on Victor Frankenstein’s life, loves, choices, and deeds. Asking, who is the real monster of the story?
And Classical Ballet, as rarely presented by a local company! People say Minneapolis is a “Modern Dance Town,” but there are thousands who also love the beauty, artistry and athleticism of classical ballet: Tutus, Toe Shoes, tights and all! This evening includes bravura classical variations that showcase the virtuosity, grace and explosiveness of TCB’s professional ballet dancers, as well as the World Premiere of an all new original work in the classical/neo-classical style that incorporates the best elements of artistry, technique, musicality and precision that are the bedrock of quality ballet.
