FBI Agent Shoots, Kills Man In North Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS — The FBI is investigating after one of the bureau's agents shot and killed a man around 12 p.m. Thursday in north Minneapolis.

The shooting happened while an FBI SWAT team attempted to serve a man an arrest warrant, according to authorities.

"After barricading himself for several hours, the subject was armed as he emerged from the home," the FBI said. "The subject was fatally wounded and another individual required medical assistance; both were transported to the hospital."

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said at a news conference that the suspect live-streamed the entire incident on social media from inside the home.

Hennepin County Sheriff Dewanna Witt disclosed that multiple agencies were involved in the incident.

The FBI said it takes all shooting incidents involving its agents "seriously" and that its inspection division is investigating Thursday's death.
