Special meeting on Monday
On Monday, May 18 at 5:30 p.m., the Library Board will interview the finalist for the Library Director position. The interview will be open to the public and will take place during a special meeting of the Library Board.

Submit your questions for the candidate as a public comment prior to the meeting. Public comment recording will be available from 12:15-1:00 p.m. on May 18. See further instructions on the Library Board webpage.

Selection process to date
The selection process has been careful and robust. Hennepin County actively recruited while the position was open September to December 2019.
A group including Human Resources leaders, Library Board and Friends Board members, and Library professionals from outside HCL reviewed applications referred from Human Resources. This group recommended five candidates for interviews.
County staff and a subcommittee of the Library Board conducted interviews and provided feedback to the County Administrator, who selected the finalist for next Monday’s meeting.
This interview was originally scheduled for March 16 and was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 outbreak and emergency response at that time.
