Late Evening Shooting Results In The Death Of One Reported Minneapolis Police Department
The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.

January 15, 2021 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Thursday evening at 10:28 pm, a ShotSpotter activation was reported on the 3500 block of Girard Avenue North. At 10:29 pm, multiple 911 callers reported a shooting at the same location.

Officers arrived in the area and located what appears to be an adult male in the alley of the 3400 block of Girard without a pulse or respirations. Officers immediately began CPR and wound management while other officers looked for a suspect and a scene. A possible scene was located on the 3500 block of Girard which coincided with the ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls. The suspect was gone. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
The Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence. The Homicide Unit sent detectives who started an investigation.
