Power Restored To Over 7K Customers In West Metro After Outage
Over 7,000 customers of Xcel Energy in Minnesota were experiencing power outages on Sunday afternoon.
WEST METRO, MN — Over 7,500 customers have had their power restored in the West Metro area of Minnesota, according to Xcel Energy, a utility company that serves more than 3.3. million electric customers in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico.
Xcel Engery provides an electric outage map where you can check the exact areas that are without power. According to the map, 7,730 customers were without power in the West Metro area Sunday afternoon.
The utility company didn't realease a statement on the outage, but it did respond to a Twitter user who posted that the power had gone out in Edina, Minnesota.

"I would need a street address to verify, but we are aware of a large outage affecting 7,564 customers, including Edina," the Xcel Energy MN Twitter account responded. "We will restore service as quickly as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience."
