Major Storm To Create Messy Week For Twin Cities: MN Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — A winter storm is headed for the Twin Cities metro area and the rest of central Minnesota Tuesday, but it's not yet clear how much of the precipitation will be rain or snow.

Another round of precipitation — more likely snow — is set to arrive Wednesday night.

Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Monday Night: Cloudy, with a low around 30. Breezy, with an east southeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tuesday: Rain, possibly mixed with snow. High near 37. Breezy, with an east southeast wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 2am. Low around 34. Breezy, with an east southeast wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. East southeast wind around 15 mph.
