Mayo Clinic's Mankota Location In Lockdown After Nearby Shooting

MANKATO, MN — Mankato Public Safety implemented a shelter in place on Friday morning after a report of a gunshot wound nearby, according to authorities. The shooting happened near Echo Street, officials said.
"For the public’s safety, those in the area of Echo Street are asked to continue to shelter in place," the city said.
The Mayo Clinic said its hospital in Mankato also went into lockdown due to the "isolated shooting at an apartment facility nearby."

"We are collaborating with Mankato Public Safety," the Mayo Clinic continued. "Patients with medical needs — including scheduled appointments — are still able to access the facility via screening."
