Minneapolis Students Graduate from Falcon View Connections Academy
Statewide public online school honors students during third annual graduation ceremony

(ST. Paul, MN) - Lucas Delich, Hayat Hassan, Sadiya Sowe and Dylan Wilson, all from Minneapolis, were among the more than 40 Falcon View Connections Academy students who recently received their high school diplomas as members of the statewide public virtual school’s Class of 2023.*
The students received their diplomas during a traditional, in-person commencement ceremony in Lake Elmo on June 11th, which included speakers, members of the faculty and proud families and friends. This is Falcon View Connections Academy’s third graduation since the school opened in 2019.
“Our students came to our school in search of a learning environment that met their individual needs, and we are so proud of our 2023 graduates and admire their determination to reach this important milestone,” said Falcon View Connections Academy Principal Anne Wasmund. “Even though we are a full-time online school, it’s wonderful to be able to host an in-person commencement and give these students the recognition they deserve.”

During the ceremony graduating senior Ella Sorenson of Miltona addressed the Class of 2023 and reflected about how the pandemic brought a lot of change to their academic careers and how learning online fostered independence among her classmates. Ella came to Falcon View Connections Academy in 2020 after attending another Connections Academy school in Nevada. She is a competitive snowboarder who needs the flexible schedule that FVCA offers to balance her schoolwork with her training/competition schedule.
"In a world where technology continues to shape industry and professions, our fluency in digital platforms sets us apart, making us valuable assets in any setting,” she said.
