Minnesota Coronavirus Hospitalizations Rise Over Weekend

ST. PAUL, MN —The number of people requiring hospitalization in Minnesota due to COVID-19 reached a high Monday, as state health officials reported treating 605 patients — an increase of 40 patients over the state's previous high.

According to state health data, 881 Minnesota residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19. Over the last 24 hours, officials reported 12 new deaths and 745 new confirmed cases.

As of Monday, Minnesota's COVID-19 statistics:

Total positive cases in the state: 21,315

• Number of health care workers: 2,373
• Total approximate number of completed tests: 204,059
• Total approximate number of completed tests from the MDH Public Health Lab: 22,011
• Total approximate number of completed tests from external laboratories: 182,048
• Total cases requiring hospitalization: 2,676
• Hospitalized as of Monday: 605
• Hospitalized in ICU as of Thursday: 248
• Patients no longer needing isolation: 14,816
• Deaths: 881
• Deaths among cases that resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities: 717
