MN Weather: Heat Wave Starts This Weekend

After a brief hiatus, the dog days of summer will return at the beginning of August.

TWIN CITIES, MN — The fall-like weather featured in the final week of July will quickly turn back to hot summer weather. The high Saturday will jump to 90 degrees in the Twin Cities metro area.

The high will approach 100 degrees by Wednesday.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 62. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south after midnight.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 90. South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 71. South wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Sunny, with a high near 89. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Sunday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
