MN Weather: Wind Chills Could Fall To 30 Degrees Below Zero

TWIN CITIES, MN — The Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area could see some light snow before temperatures take a nosedive.

"Temperatures will continue to run near to above normal through Friday then much colder air arrives for the weekend through the start of next week, including the potential for wind chills -20 to -30 degrees," the National Weather Service said.

"Light snow is possible both Wednesday and Friday mornings, with the potential for 1-2 inches of snow each day."

Tuesday: Patchy fog between 9am and 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 31. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. South southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 28. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a steady temperature around 15. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a temperature rising to around 23 by 5am. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming west northwest in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
