MINNEAPOLIS — Alex Rodriguez’s bid to become co-owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves is in danger, in part because of his 2021 breakup with pop icon Jennifer Lopez, according to a report.

Last year, the New York Yankees legend and his business partner — Diapers.com founder Marc Lore — reached a deal to buy the Wolves from owner Glen Taylor for $1.5 billion.

However, Rodriguez has reportedly failed to come up with all of the money for the deal, forcing Lore to buy up more shares.

"Alex and Marc were supposed to be 50/50," an NBA source told the New York Post. "Alex couldn’t come up with his half."

It's not clear how willing Lore is to keep making payments on his partner's behalf.

When Lore and Rodriguez first teamed up, the former baseball star was dating Lopez which "appeared to play a role in forging his ties with Lore," the Post reports.
