MN Woman, 28, Killed After Rejecting Coworker's Advances: Police
The man made numerous advances toward the woman and he was said to have a bad temper, according to police.
ST. CLOUD, MN — A woman was shot and killed by a coworker after she rejected his advances, according to police.
Michael J. Carpenter, 36, was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder. If convicted, Carpenter faces up to 40 years in prison.
On Oct. 24 at about 7 a.m., St. Cloud police responded to a business on a gunshot report.

Officers found a bleeding woman laying in a parking lot outside the business, according to the criminal complaint. She was declared dead at the scene.
A witness said they heard a gunshot and watched Carpenter drive away.

Coworkers told police that Carpenter made numerous advances toward the woman, which she rejected, according to the criminal complaint.
The workers also said Carpenter had a bad temper, authorities said.
Police found a loaded pistol and magazine in Carpenter's car, according to the criminal complaint.
The style and brand of the bullets matched the shell casing found next to the woman, authorities said.
Carpenter admitted to police that he did not sleep well the night before the shooting because of a text argument he had with the woman, according to the criminal complaint.
