MPD Crime Prevention Specialists Host Home Security Workshop

October 23, 2019 (MINNEAPOLIS) – There was a great community presence at the 3rd Precinct for the Home Security Workshop hosted by our Crime Prevention Specialists!

We covered topics last night such as crime trends, strengthening doors and windows, lighting tips and habits that can make a difference.

A few tips to keep in mind are:

• Make your home seem occupied when it’s not by keeping lights on (moving lava lamp) or radio/TV sounds
• Turn and lock the door when leaving your home, and wave at the house as if someone was watching from inside
• Use your neighbors eyes as a crime prevention tool
• Put a single light motion sensor inside your porch
