MANKATO, MN — Mike Lindell, the CEO of Minnesota-based MyPillow and an associate of former President Donald Trump, said he was served a search warrant while at a fast food resturant in Mankato Tuesday night.

Lindell said on his website he was in a drive-thru at Hardee's when FBI agents surrounded his car. The agents served Lindell with a search warrant and his cellphone was seized.

Lindell said they also questioned him about his ties to a Colorado county clerk who is accused of tampering with Dominion voting machines.

In a video, Lindell showed a letter signed by an assistant U.S. attorney in Colorado that said prosecutors were conducting an "official criminal investigation of a suspected felony" and that a federal grand jury was used in the process.

"Without commenting on this specific matter, I can confirm that the FBI was at that location executing a search warrant authorized by a federal judge," FBI spokeswoman Vikki Migoya told the Associated Press in an email.

Lindell — who has frequently promoted false claims about the 2020 election being stolen — was at the White House in the days after the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol.

A photo of his notes captured by the Washington Post indicates he discussed the idea of declaring "martial law if necessary" with Trump.

About a month later, Lindell was hit with a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems.
