One Dead After Evening Shooting In Minneapolis
The victim was brought into the hospital where he died a short time later.

(MINNEAPOLIS) On Thursday evening at 8:56 pm., Minneapolis Police responded to a report of the sound of shots fired on the 2200 block of 13th Avenue South. While officers were en route, additional 911 callers reported that a male had been shot.

Officers arrived and spoke with people at the scene who advised that the victim had been transported to Hennepin County Medical Center before police or paramedics arrived.
Preliminary investigation indicates that victim, male believed to be in his mid-20s, was seated in a car when the suspect approached on foot. The suspect shot several times into the car striking the victim.

The victim was brought into the hospital where he died a short time later.
The Minneapolis Crime Lab responded and processed the scene. Detectives from the Homicide Unit and officers from the 3rd Precinct canvassed the area speaking with people who may have heard of seen something.
The identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.
