Pedestrian Dies After Crash On Tuesday Afternoon In Minneapolis

Paramedics arrived and immediately transported the victim, who was in grave condition, to an area hospital.

January 13, 2021 (MINNEAPOILIS) – At 2:14 pm on Tuesday, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car in the area of Lowry Ave NE and Arthur Street NE.

Officers arrived and located an adult male, believed to be in his 50’s, lying in the street. Paramedics arrived and immediately transported the victim, who was in grave condition, to an area hospital.

Officers also noted a small blue Toyota SUV with front end damage stopped at the scene. Officers spoke with the driver, an adult male believed to be in his 40’s, who is cooperating with the investigation.

Preliminary investigation indicates that that the victim was crossing Lowry Ave. NE from the south to the north when a vehicle struck him.

Investigators were advised that the victim died a short time after arriving at the hospital.

Minneapolis Police Department’s Crime Lab and Traffic Investigations Units responded to the scene to investigate this incident. Neither Drugs nor alcohol impairment appear to be factors in this crash.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim along the nature and cause of death.
