Playworks Minnesota Hosts Jump for Joy Showcase

Students Displayed Double Dutch Skills During Special Recess Celebration

On April 30, Playworks Minnesota hosted a Jump for Joy Showcase in partnership with the Minneapolis Women’s Double Dutch Club: Double Dutch Is In My DNA. The event at the Ascension Catholic School featured various games and jump rope challenges, focusing on students showcasing their newfound jump rope skills, including Double Dutch. In April, Playworks Minnesota launched a new jump rope and Double Dutch curriculum in four Minneapolis schools developed in collaboration with the Women's Double Dutch Club. The program promotes physical activity, joy, and community connection, fostering pride and belonging among students of diverse backgrounds. Playworks Minnesota supports the holistic development of children by providing opportunities for safe and healthy play experiences and promotes the importance of play in education. This school year, Playworks Minnesota continues its commitment to ensuring that over 24,000 students in 49 schools and community-based organizations across the state have access to quality play experiences during and beyond the school day.
