MINNEAPOLIS — A 25-year-old professional rapper has been charged with indecent exposure on an aircraft in connection to a flight from Japan to Minnesota.

Sidney Royel Selby III, of California — also known as "Desiigner" — masturbated on the flight, according to a law enforcement affidavit.

If convicted, Selby faces up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine. His initial court hearing has not yet been scheduled.

On April 17, Selby was traveling on Delta Flight 120 from Tokyo to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, according to prosecutors.

Selby — while in the Delta One cabin — exposed his genitals multiple times during the flight, investigators said. He also masturbated, according to authorities.

Prosecutors said a flight attendant then handed Selby an FAA violation card, which tells a passenger that their behavior "appears to be in violation of federal law."

Flight attendants had Selby move to the rear of the plane and were seated near two other Delta customers who agreed to monitor him, according to investigators.

When Flight 120 arrived in Minneapolis, Selby was detained and interviewed by an FBI agent, authorities said.

The rapper said he has been struggling with his mental health. In a statement to TMZ, Selby said that "For the past few months i have not been ok, and i have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While overseas for a concert i performed at, i had to be admitted in to a hospital, i was not thinking clearly."

The rapper added that "They gave me meds, and i had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the states, and am admitting my self in a facility to help me. I will be cancelling all shows and any obligations until further notice. Mental health is real guys, please pray for me. If your not feeling like yourself please get help."
