'Shelter-In-Place' Alert Mistakenly Sent Across Twin Cities Metro
"This occurred because of human error at HCSO's Emergency Communications Facility," the sheriff's office said.
HENNEPIN COUNTY, MN — A "shelter-in-place" warning that went out Monday night was issued "beyond its intended area," according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
The warning was intended only for the 3600-3700 block of Hubbard and West Broadway in Robbinsdale. However, according to the sheriff's office, human error resulted in the warning airing on most broadcast television stations in the Twin Cities metro area.
