Single Car Crash Leaves One Dead

March 28, 2020 (MINNEAPOLIS) At 9:17 pm Saturday evening, the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a report of a single vehicle crash in the area of Olson Memorial Highway and Penn Avenue.
Officers arrived and located the vehicle with an adult female, believed to be in her 30’s, deceased inside. The female was the lone occupant.

Preliminary investigation is that the vehicle was travelling eastbound on Olson Memorial Highway and left the roadway west of Penn Avenue. The vehicle, described as a silver colored SUV, struck a fire hydrant and continued east across Penn Avenue and through a grassy area south of Olson Memorial Highway and struck a tree.
It is believed that speed may have been a factor in this crash.
The Minneapolis Police Department Traffic Unit and Crime Lab responded to the scene and collected evidence and worked on a reconstruction of the crash.
The identity of the deceased, along with the nature and causes of death, will be released by the medical examiner in the days to come.
